Here I am in the early 90’s on stage at the West End Centre in Aldershot. It’s a an ‘anti heroin’ gig to raise money, I’m in the band BigHouse, I’m playing rhythm guitar, its my first ever gig and I’m shitting myself. My legs won’t move and I’m routed to the same spot for the whole show. When I get off, I realize nobody noticed all the mistakes I made and I think to myself – ‘hey this ain’t so bad, I can do this’.
 
Four great years rush by. I’m out of college, 2 Transit and 1 Bedford van later and its all over. Didn’t get signed but did get laid. Did I learn anything? Yea, still can’t fucking play the guitar!! Wrote some good songs though and have the demos to prove it. I form another band, (won’t mention the name), image is good but the rest of it isn’t, singer was a good mate but that didn’t mean he could sing.
 
May have been another band, can’t or won’t remember. Then I met Izabella, or Clare as she was known at the time. Now she could sing, and she looked a lot more sexy then any of us. So we formed another band, ‘Twice Shy’ I think it was. Anyway, things were definitely looking up. More years went by. Don’t know what we was playing, think it may have been the dreaded ‘P’ word – Pop. Only thing was, it wasn’t that popular.
 
Few more years went by and at last we discovered Rock. We formed the band ‘No Mean City’. We had some great songs, only trouble was the band was full of tossers. One of them, the drummer, even faked his mother having a heart attack so he could get out of doing a gig – cause he was spineless and shitting himself. Izabella knocked him on the head soon enough and that was the end of that. I think the guitarist returned home to Preston, wherever that is, and disappeared up his own arse.
 
Then we formed a fucking awful band, so bad I can hardly bring myself to mention it for fear of upsetting the other members, oh go on then – ‘Appetite’. We look back on that time as the wilderness years when Izabella and I completely lost the plot and nearly disappeared over the edge of music obscurity. I’m not going into detail, but we even had a soldier in the band – playing keyboards would you believe!! Didn’t know he was a soldier when he joined, though the little tash and shinny boots should have given it away. If only the Iraq war would have started earlier we would have been shot of him sooner. Still, he had a good sense of timing – must have been all the square bashing!
 
Then, at last, a fucking great band – Jabba which soon morphed into Absolute. Great people, great music, great singing great times. We got signed. Hooray. We released an album, couple of singles, got on the telly etc. etc. Was great up until the end when we just ran out of steam and had some musical differences along with arguments over weed supply. Still, only good memories and a lot of respect for the guitarist who’s only crime was his taste in women!
 
Then we teamed up with Craig. We shared a vision, and that vision was Sucking Diesel, a fucking good romping punk band, with tunes so melodic you could hang your hat on them. Two years it lasted, in the end we was defeated by our drummer who we now refer to as Mental ….. – not going into any details here, lets just say drugs can mess you up kids!!
 
And then we had the good fortune to meet Dave, the only drummer we have ever met who is both talented and sane at the same time. It started great – fantastic songs, some world rocking gigs and finally the release of our first official single – Naïve. And then it went pear shape. Not going to go into the reasons, lets just say Izabella and I had to remove a problem – and we did.
 
So here we are again, undeterred we are looking for new play mates. We have great songs in the pipeline and a great response to the single Naïve. Onwards and upwards!!
