How HTT promote a new release.
In reality, music teams and DJs do not have time to listen to complete albums from new abands. When promoting an album or EP we break down the tracks into a number of single releases. This will have a greater chance to attract radio play and direct listeners to the bands websites and music catalogue.
For each release we set up an EPK (electronic press kit) including biog, reviews, audio streaming, with the option to download the single direct to a desktop. Due to the volume of new releases each week, online marketing is only productive when followed through by posting CDs and making calls. The single release promotions, if managed correctly delivers radio play, music sales and band awareness. We would expect radio play within 2 to 3 weeks of a campaign start date. The follow up confirms music teams interest and how much support is offered.
Most radio stations have strict playlist criteria and new bands are usually passed onto specialist and unsigned shows. Because HTT regularly communicates with music team members our bands get regular radio play. If we do not make playlists then the single is pushed for airplay, known as spots, light rotation, and free selection.
Reports and evaluation
Artists, managers and labels need to know what’s right and what’s wrong and if anyone is playing the music?. We update every 7 to 10 working days, confirming radio play interest and management activity.
